Kates are a class above other artists in their respective fields. They
are tougher than Katies, and they can exhibit a significant edge, not only
in their aspirations, but in their actual achievements. Their secret is
in self-discipline and surrounding themselves with admirer-promoters.
They otherwise maintain private lives. You don't see Kate's too often
making fools of themselves, but when they do, in can be a gigantic event.
A Kate is a true and loyal friend, a friend for life. But don't cross a
Kate, or you will be added to her ignore list. Kates of Shakespearian
days were rough and tumble, but all feminine. More significant Kates of
the twentieth century include Kate Hepburn. Just remember that she was
actually a Katharine who was nicknamed Kate. By making her nickname
larger than life, she started a trend by which the original name of
children born later on was simply "Kate" by itself.
Modern-day Kates of significance include: Kate Beckinsale, Kate Bosworth, Kate Hudson, Kate Moss, and Kate Winslet.
Two other Kates of significance within their fields include Kate Bush
[strange and intensely original musician/composer] and Kate Garraway,
television presenter.
