Fallout Boy

Fallout Boy is a punk rock quartet from Chicago, consisting of Pete Wentz (bassist, songwriter), Patrick Stump (guitarist, lead vocalist), Andy Hurley, (drummer), and Joe Trohman, (vocalist, guitarist.) Growing up in the midst of hardcore rock, the members, evolved to a more melodic style. Pete Wentz and Andy Hurley, drummer for Racetraitor, formed Fallout Boy in the 2001, aiming for a style that was closer to Green Day and The Descendants. They were named by an audience member, allegedly after superhero Radioactive Man's sidekick, from the animated television series, The Simpsons. They captured the attention of Island Records in 2003 with "Take This To Your Grave" (Fueled by Ramen), with catchy tunes including, "The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes" and "Dead on Arrival." After signing with Island Records that year, their major label debut album was released in May 2005, "From Under the Cork Tree." It debuted on Billboard at Number #9, driven by the single, "Sugar We're Going Down," which was number #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their video won the MTV2 award at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards. Fallout Boy the band has been nominated as "Best New Artist" for the 2006 Grammy Awards.

[Ohio, has had a surge in new melodic groups. Anyone interested in Fallout Boy, might also appreciate the music of Hawthorne Heights from Dayton, Ohio.

Farther afield in the punk mold is My Chemical Romance with "Ghost of You", California's Green Day with their "American Idiot" album and farther still, Belgium's DHT and "Listen To Your Heart."] Others bands that may be of interest include System of a Down or SOAD or System, from Los Angeles, who debuted in 1998. Also there is Nickleback, Canadian band, most popular song, "Animals." Nickelback will be around a long time. A progressive rock band of interest is Coheed and Cambria. The Suffering, being one of their better known hits singles and videos. And for something really innovative and different try a Rammstein mp3 to experience the music of a German industrial metal/hard rock band, the music of Illinois alternative metal group Mudvayne, CKY a Pennsylvania rock band (skate videos CKY created by Bam Margera), post-grunge band Godsmack, or California's metalcore band, Atreyu. 15hqxx9.
