Another great year for McDonalds
hockey cards. Much like
the previous year issue with an emphasis on Wayne Gretzky, including
regular cards, flimsy common "Teammates", and the harder to get "Moments".
As the years go by, it is the Gretzky starring "Moments" cards that
appear regularly on the online auctions.
As with the previous year, there was an premium insert that would
get you an oversized Gretzky. But this year's Wayne Gretzky Jersey
patch was a gorgeous item, numbered, pressed in lucite, packaged in
a velvet bag, and boxed. It came with a certificate of authenticity.
Although more were produced than the previous year, this was the
golden find of the issue. There were other premiums, also,
including Gretzky signed pucks, but these rarely appear, and the
demand is not as great.
